Fall Foliage
Even though I feel like my weeks have been crazy busier and my weekends have been nonexistent lately, I made time to go on a day hike with an old college friend this past weekend. We hiked up by Berthoud's Pass. It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day, but there was the smell of smoke in the air from the wildfire that started just west of Fraser. We need rain here in Colorado. It's been an abnormally warm fall. We have two weeks left before some friends and I run the Denver Rock 'n' Roll half marathon, so I'm hoping it's in the 60s and sunny by then :).
Lack of sleep and overload at work and things going on outside of work have certainly made me cranky at times. I hate that I find myself getting easily offended or short with people because of it. I'm thankful for good friends, family, and students that bring smiles to my faces and make me laugh. It certainly gives me hope that this time of busyness will pass. I have been certainly grateful for friends to practice Spanish with, a new rental house with an incredible front porch, some good long runs, good boxed wine, local coffee shops, picture texts of my nephew, and hugs from some of the students I work with.
This too shall pass.
